Aix-les-Bains Rheumatology Week 2022

The Aix les Bains Rheumatology Week was founded in 1949 by Doctor Jean Jules HERBERT, an orthopaedic surgeon. At that time there was no chair of rheumatology in France. This precursor created this event to make up for this lack by creating a cycle of teachings, which lasted a whole week, hence its name, practical work and sessions around medical-surgical themes. It has since become an annual congress and is chaired by the President of the French Society of Rheumatology. The Association of the Week of Rheumatology of Aix les Bains which organizes it is chaired by the son of the founder, Alain Herbert. If this Congress is one of the oldest medical congresses in France and the oldest in rheumatology, it is because it has been able to preserve what has always made its specificity and to renew itself by innovating.
