The World Allergy Organization (WAO) held the first World Allergy Congress (WAC) in 1951 in Zurich, Switzerland, and Congresses are now held annually. Each Congress attracts between 2,000 and 5,000 experts and scientists working and interested in the fields of allergy, immunology and other related fields. In most cases, WAO partners with a regional or national Member Society to host the Congress.
