Message from the President of the SFCP, Prof S. Sarnacki: Pediatric tumors are indeed very specific tumors, most of them embryonic and can be considered rare diseases. This is an area that has been a pioneer in a network organization (national, European and international), allowing the large-scale evaluation of multimodal treatment protocols where surgery often has a very important place. Advances in the field of constitutional and somatic genetics now make it possible to improve the prognosis and better define the indications and modalities of surgery. Finally, minimally invasive surgery has now taken its place in the treatment of certain childhood cancers.
