Triglyceride-glucose index and chest pain

Endocrinology and Metabolism

The triglyceride-glucose index is a simple marker of insulin resistance, linked to cardiovascular disease. In this study, researchers evaluated the association between this index, chest pain and all-cause mortality in patients with and without chest pain. The data showed a positive correlation between the triglyceride-glucose index and chest pain, even after adjusting for potential confounding factors. For each one-unit increase in the index, the RR for mortality was 1.14 for participants with chest pain and 1.25 for those without. A linear relationship was observed between the index and chest pain.
